Sándor Végh has been active in the local Hungarian community in the Washington area since he arrived in the U.S. in 1997. Between 1998 and 2012, he managed Hungarian activities in the Kossuth House, including cultural events, exhibitions, film clubs, library, language classes, and networking events, first as president of the Kossuth House Social Club, and later as president of the Hungarian America Foundation, a small non-profit organization he founded with a focus on young professionals. He joined the Kossuth Foundation in 2021 and was elected Chair in December 2022.

Zsolt Szekeres was born in Germany and worked as an international civil servant for the United Nations in Washington, DC. He is a founding member of the Hungarian American Coalition where he served both as a Board member and President; he is currently the organization’s Treasurer since 1991. Currently, he is President of the Hungarian Human Rights Foundation, working on behalf of Hungarian minorities for several decades.
Fluent in Hungarian, Spanish, and English, Mr. Szekeres and his brothers founded Information for Investment Decisions (IID), in the early ’70s, with locations in both D.C. and Budapest helping DC-based organizations such as the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, Committee for Danubian Research and other non-governmental organizations in Hungary and in the United States. He is a member of the Board of the Carpathian Foundation based in Eger, Hungary, and Pro Ruris Egyesület, Mezőmadaras, Romania.

Attila Juhasz was elected the Treasurer of the Kossuth Foundation in December 2023.

Attila Juhasz is Principal Portfolio Manager and Head of the US Fixed Income Desk at the Treasury of The World Bank. He manages the risk and investment strategies of all the USD fixed income portfolios for both internal clients of the World Bank Group and external clients. Mr. Juhasz joined the World Bank Investment Management Department in 2006 and has over 25 years of investment management experience in fixed income products, focusing in particular on global bond markets and on derivative strategies. Prior to joining the World Bank, Attila worked at the National Bank of Hungary as a portfolio manager in the Reserve Management Department where he was responsible for managing the Euro investment portfolio. Mr. Juhasz has an MS in Economics from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and is a CFA charterholder.

Judit Slezak is an accomplished business executive with more than 15 years of experience in marketing and business development. She has put her leadership skills, business acumen, and marketing expertise in a variety of corporate settings including Bombardier Aerospace, Prudential Financial, HR Certification Institute (HRCI), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), ASCD (originally the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development), and The Source for Learning (SFL). Ms. Slezak demonstrated success in developing and executing strategies that have driven brand awareness, revenue growth, and engagement in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.
She holds an MBA from Virginia Tech Pamplin College of Business, and a B.S. in German and Russian studies from Juhasz Gyula College. She is proficient in five languages. Ms. Slezak joined the board of the Kossuth Foundation in 2020 and serves as a board president at Cultured Kids nonprofit organization focusing on building global citizens through education.
She resides in Vienna, VA with her husband and son.

Ed Maguire is a lawyer by training, having practiced corporate law for 22 years. He spend 16 years at Deloitte as Tax Partner, advising US and foreign companies and individuals, with responsibilities throughout Western and Eastern Europe. Before retirement he spent nine years as Inspector General and Senior Adviser to US Intelligence Agencies. r. Maguire has contributed his pro bono to several cultural organizations over the years, including the DC Youth Orchestra, American Hungarian Cultural Center, the Washington Conservatory of Music, and the Lochland School in Geneva, NY. He is a gradute of Harvard University with a BA and a JD from the Harvard Law School. He also speaks French, Russian, German, Polish and Hungarian.
